The teacher was not using much technology, except for her own use for example the ELMO in order for the students to be able to see her examples and following along with ease. The students themselves were not using technology, for enhancing their learning they were basically sitting at their desk and using their own computer, their brain, with pen and paper. Nevertheless the only technology the teacher was using was hard enough for her to handle. I think schools should really think about training their teachers with the new technology they are adopting, before school starts, at least before they start placing the machines inside the campus. As well as, if they are going to integrate new technology they have to program it completely not just some of the pieces. I noticed she had a Smart Board yet it was not in use because it did not have all the proper connections. And even the ELMO the teacher was using, it was borrowed, she mentioned that during the regular year she actually used an overhead. I really do enjoy the blackboard program UTPA uses, and think it’s a great way of communicating with other students as well as the teacher. It’s a little bit of everything its environment friendly; we don’t have to use and waste paper, to turn in assignments. Grades will be posted for students to be able to see right away, very efficient.
